The short version

You can play VocabGames on the web without an account. If you choose to sign in, we store only what is needed to sync your game progress across your devices. We show ads to keep the games free. We do not sell your personal data.

Who we are

What we store

• Playing as a guest: your game progress, settings and hint balance are kept in your browser (local storage) on your device only - they never leave your device.
• Signed in with Google or Apple: we store your account identifier, display name and your game progress in Google Firebase so it can sync across your devices and appear on the leaderboard.
• Technical data: like most websites, our hosting and advertising providers automatically receive standard log data (such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited) to deliver and secure the service.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use local storage to remember your progress and preferences. When advertising is enabled, our advertising partners (see below) may set and read cookies or device identifiers in your browser to serve and measure ads. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings, and you can control ad personalization as described below.

Advertising

The web version may show ads served by Google AdSense and related Google advertising products.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick / DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

• play without signing in;
• clear your local progress by clearing your browser storage;
• control ad personalization via the links in the Advertising section;

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

Guest data stays on your device until you clear it. Signed-in account data is kept until you ask us to delete it or delete your account.

Children

VocabGames is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described here. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
